Why are all of the recent female-led superhero movies prequels? I get the first Wonder Woman being set in the past, the WB was still trying to stick to Snyder's bullshit timeline, and my feelings about the timing of the Black Widow movie are clear. But the rest? Idk, at least Birds of Prey for all its faults (lack of Oracle, butchering of Cassandra's origin) doesn't appear to be set in the 1970s or something.

But! Bright colors! Decent lighting! Pedro Pascal in a bad wig! The best Chris inexplicably back from the dead!

Fine. I'm in. This actually looks better than I was expecting.

That said: this movie should have been made after The Avengers or after Captain America: The Winter Soldier because at this point, it feels like a 'sorry we murdered her for manpain' consolation prize.

Also Clint Barton still should have been the one who went over that cliff in Avengers: Endgame.

But I also have a massive crush on Florence Pugh, so I am so excited for her in the MCU going forward.

It's going to be interesting to see what hijinks Marvel is playing with this trailer. Like I'm pretty sure that they CGI'd Natasha's hair in order to hide that there's gonna be a time-jump. And I'm not sold that that's 2018!Steve.

Also, pretty sure at least one of the major characters that dies is going to be revealed to a Skrull. Don't know who (money's on Cap, just so they can keep the possibility of bringing Chris Evans back eventually if he wants), but someone's gonna be a Skrull-all-along.

I don't know about this movie, man. I just don't know. Why is Genosha apparently a mutant summer camp on an island in the middle of a lake? Has Sophie Turner's American accent improved at all? Will they give Alexandra Shipp more to do? Why does this look like a shot-by-shot remake of The Last Stand? Why did Fox drop "X-Men" from the title?

I really wish Fox had gone all-in with Apocalypse and just done an Age of Apocalypse universe. At least it would be different. (And now I'm pissed about Apocalypse, and really want to start an Age of Apocalypse game.)
