nothing but the rain

If you are hosting icons on my servers, DreamHost is doing upgrades on their PHP software today. It sounds like it should only affect anyone using WordPress and not any other kind of site, but just in case. It shouldn't go down, but if it does, it should be up by the end of the day. I'll update this post once the updates are done, and if they tell me that any of the hosted sites need to be adjusted.

I've updated my t-do list to include everything I could remember from Marvel's MCU announcements that they made last night. It's all exciting, I'm looking forward to making icons from all of it. What I'm not looking forward to is making all the caps or someone else having to make all those caps (so, so sorry, iseethelight!).

But! The entire (announced, since there's at least four roles they didn't announce last night that I know of) The Eternals cast! Awkwafina in Shang-chi! Actually, everyone in Shang-chi! Natalie Portman back as Jane Foster and she gets to be Thor! Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau! Mahershala Ali as Blade! Whoever they cast as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye!

It's gonna be a great Phase Four of the MCU.

Obviously, all icon sets that are made from screencaps of Avengers: Infinity War contain spoilers for said movie. Just in case you're one of the three people that haven't seen the movie yet.

hiatus!

I was already down with the flu last week, only to finally get up to log in to my computer to find that it has died completely. The new one won't be in until (hopefully) Friday, but since I can't even get my old computer to turn on, I can't transfer files from it. So I'll be starting from scratch!

I might be out of commission for another week or so as I try to rebuild my own screencap library as well as download all the previous sets from all the wonderful cappers on this site that I was in the middle of iconning.

Never fear, though, I will be back! (Maybe this will finally be the kick in the pants I needed to finish all the Sense8 season one icons from the excellent caps by capseroo~)

All icons have been moved over from Photobucket! Finally! (Well, those I was planning on movie over anyway.) Directories have also been updated to remove the sets that have been removed from this journal.

Thank you, evacuee, for letting me know the extension that would actually download full albums. It was a lifesaver. (And kept me from just throwing my hands in the air and deciding to start over from scratch out of frustration!)

The female PB icons that I had managed to download before Photobucket's latest fuck-up are now updated. The male PB icons are also updated, and both directory pages are up to date. With regards to the female icons I did not manage to get downloaded, I am still working on trying to download those, once I figure out how to get them downloaded without half of the icons downloading as that shitty ransom demand to upgrade my account for $400 a year. Those galleries are still in the directory as I do intend to get them eventually.

I likely will not try to reupload the comics sets (except maybe the A-Babies vs. X-Babies, because it was adorable), movie/tv sets, or random sets. A lot of those are outdated, duplicates, or can be easily remade if I need to.

As with the male icons, some sets will not get put back up, and I have removed those sets from this journal. A list of those sets is below. If anyone would like to re-request a specific PB on this list or the male list, that is fine. They will just be entirely new, not be fighting Photobucket to download old icons!

I've started the (long, long) process of updating all of the galleries that were messed up by Photobucket. Until I get them updated, you can find the galleries here: female icons(these galleries were uploaded on July 31 and August 1), male icons (these galleries were uploaded all on July 24).

However! Because nothing will ever fucking be easy with Photobucket, their "Download Album" option is no longer functioning. They are aware of the problem and say they are working on it. I have my doubts. So the female icon galleries are incomplete. I got through the Ilsa Fisher set downloaded, and from the Taylor Swift to the end of the directory. Most everything between those sets, I didn't not get downloaded before Photobucket messed up.

I keep trying every day, on the off-chance Photobucket has fixed its shit.

Also, there are some sets that will not be uploaded again for a variety of reasons. Some will be remade, some will not. For the male PBs, they are as follows in order to make it easier for those journals that archive these sorts of things:

Since it's going to be a couple of weeks until I can get all of my icons moved over to my own server, I've made a post, stuck to the top of my journal, where people can request sets that are affected by the Photobucket problem. This is so I can keep up with all the requests in one place. The post is here, feel free to request any sets you may need.

If there's any iconmakers or screencappers who need server space after Photobucket's latest fuck-up, I can offer my servers. I'll make you your own subdomain and FTP log-in and everything. You just have to promise not to use the space for anything that's going to get me arrested. There's way too many talented makers on IJ (and other servers) to see anyone get shut out now.

Since Photobucket has turned into nothing more than a money grabbing scheme at this point (seriously, who has $39.99 a month to spend on shitty image hosting just to be able to hotlink the images?), any of my icons sets posted before March 8, 2015 are not showing up.

If there is a set you would like, comment here, and I'll give you the link to the photobucket directory. From there, you can download the entire album in a zip file.

I will be moving all of my icons over to my own server, and since this has now happened, I'll speed up my process. Some sets may disappear completely for a variety of reasons. Sorry for the hassle.
